Taishi (in Xi) is an idle young man who rides a motorcycle from house to house every day to hand out flyers and stuff it into the keyhole. If the flyer is not removed in a few days, Taishi will pry open the lock and live there for a while, where he will take a bath, cook and take pictures. In exchange, he will help the host family do some housework and take care of the room. Once, he met Shanhua (Li Chengjuan), a woman who had been abused by her husband in an empty house. She was bruised and swollen and her eyes were full of sadness. After escaping, Taishi was thinking about Shanhua. When he returned to her house, he happened to meet Shanhua's husband abusing her. He immediately stepped in and took her away. Later, the two of them returned to their mysterious life and looked for an empty room together. Although they had no verbal communication, they had a tacit understanding with each other. Once when they entered a stranger's room, they found the body of an old man. They gave him a serious funeral and lived happily in the house. Until one day the old man's son came to the door and they were taken away as suspects. Taishi was jailed and Shanhua was taken away by her husband. But the story doesn't end here.
