The film depicts one of the most brutal wars in human history: the Battle of Thermopylae. In 480 BC, Persian King Xerxes I (Rodrigo Santoro) personally led an army of 300,000 to conquer Greece. The Greek city-states quickly sent troops to form a coalition army, preparing to resist the invasion of the Persian army. The front line of the line of defense is located at Thermopylae in Greece. This place is guarded by King Leonidas of Sparta (Gerard Butler), led by the city's 300 elite soldiers and more than 4000 allied troops. Due to the betrayal of the traitors, the Greek army was swept behind by the Persian army to form a siege. In order to preserve the strength of the coalition forces, Leonidas asked the coalition forces to retreat first, and he led 300 elite soldiers to defend Thermopylae Pass and rear the situation.
