After a group of thieves robbed a gold carriage, the leader, Ben Wade (Glenn Ford), was arrested carelessly in the town. The small-town police officer was not happy for long, because successfully sending Wade to court has become a very thorny problem. Dan Evans, the farmer who is suffering from the economic crisis (Van Hefflin), joined the team to escort Wade for a considerable commission. While waiting for the 3:10 train to Yuma, the escort faced a life-and-death threat from Wade's accomplice, and Wade offered Dan a better price. Faced with money, life and death and morality, how would he choose? How will the final escort journey end?
