A Patch of Blue

A Patch of Blue 8.0

Elizabeth Herman plays an 18-year-old white blind girl who lives in darkness with her violent mother and elderly grandfather. That day she begged her grandfather to take her to the park when he was at work so that she could breathe fresh air for the first time. When she was working on beading under the tree, she was helped by the kind-hearted Sidney Boit, and the two fell in love, but did not know that the other was black. The choreographer Guy Green uses warm and delicate methods to deal with this black-and-white paragraph. There is no loud cry and complaint, but it makes people have heartfelt sympathy for the heroine's experience. It is an excellent work that shows the light of human nature. Shirley Winters, who plays his mother, won the Best supporting Actress Award.
