Amy (Bridget Mira Brigitte Mira) is a 60-year-old cleaning woman who works hard with a meagre salary and lives in poverty. By coincidence, she met 40-year-old Ali (El Hedi ben Salem), and they danced together and Ali offered to send Amy home. Late at night, Ali missed the last bus and had to stay at Amy's house. The two lonely people met late and talked with each other by candlelight. When Amy felt deep doubts about it, Ali only gently comforted her. Sure enough, the story of Amy staying with the man soon spread all over the street, and the fingers of her neighbors and colleagues taught her to be on pins and needles, but she had to make up a lie. She said Ali was her fiance. Unsurprisingly, the marriage was opposed by everyone, who tried their best to crowd out and denigrate the couple, which made them decide to travel to avoid the limelight. When they came back, their situation improved, not because their neighbors accepted them, but because they had a new object of exclusion. Without external pressure, the relationship between Amy and Ali has a rift because of internal contradictions. For the film.
