Aksai (Johnny Depp), a young man who works in New York, sees an Inuit fainting on an ice sheet in his dream. A sled dog rescues him and a red balloon floats in the air. Axel's acting-obsessed friend Paul (Vincent Gallo) visits and invites him to Arizona to marry his uncle Leo, who works in the car business in Arizona for many years, leaving Axel and Paul to work in the dealership. Soon Aksai gets acquainted with Elena (Faye Dunaway) and Grace. In order to help Elena realize a flying dream, Aksai stays at the mother and daughter's home to try to build all kinds of aircraft and start all over again in constant failure. This neurotic mother-daughter quarrel has been with him all the time. In Aksai's dream, a fish flies through the air. Elena finally got a small plane, and Axe's love to Grace at the celebration party led to an unexpected ending. This film won the Silver Bear Award at the 1993 Berlin Film Festival.
