One day in April at the end of the 16th century, a generation of celebrities was coming to an end in a modest mansion in Kyoto soaked by torrential rain. The owner of the house is Qian Lixiu (Shikawa Hai Laozang), a tea ceremony guru revered all over the world. Back in those days, he was appreciated by Nobutaka Shida (Yosuke Ishiya) in the troubled times of the warring States period, and used his influence to save the endangered Yuchai Xiuji (Omori Nanpeng). Hero hegemony vanished, Xiuji became a new generation of great hero, but gradually dissatisfied with Lixiu's uncompromising pursuit of beauty and indifference to power. Two people who should not have intersected, the rift is getting bigger and bigger, which seems to be doomed to Lixiu's tragedy. Life is dying, accompanied and questioned by his wife Zong Eun (Miki Nakatani), Lixiu recalls the old days and the unforgettable love affair in his youth that influenced his fate.
