Mike Lee's first feature film focuses on a young woman named Sylvia who lives with her mentally retarded sister on the outskirts of West Norwood in south London. The boyfriend who is dating is silent and extremely shy, a young man who newly moved into her basement is also self-abased because of her educational background, and her best colleague is mired in her own family crisis. All the desires could not be expressed freely, and Sylvia was in the agony of torture.
