The film tells the story of Kenzaburo(Masaya Nakagawa) after the death of his wife Akiko(Takae Kimura), leaving Japan with his son (Ryo Kando) to travel to the Lake District of England, the hometown of Beatrice Porter, author of "Peter Rabbit". Because Akiko loved the story of "Peter Rabbit" when she was a child, she always hoped to travel to the Lake District of England with Kenzaburo. Kenzaburo had to fulfill Akiko's last wish to scatter her ashes in a local lake. After a dispute with his son, Kenzaburo eventually traveled to the Lake District of England alone. After a nightmarish immigration process, Kenzaburo eventually meets John (Sid) and his daughter Mary (Buckley), who develops a strong friendship, and Kenzaburo realizes that he needs to pursue this symbolic journey with his son and ultimately unveils a long-standing secret.
