It seems that the never-ending night is shrouded in a dilapidated, cold modern metropolis, and the air is filled with an ominous smell. John Murdo (Rufus Seville Rufus Sewell) wakes up in a hotel bathtub with no impression of what happened before and even forgets his identity and name. Mysterious phone calls, cold bodies and unidentified killers all left him at a loss what to do. With his only clues, he began to trace his identity and the cause of all the confusion. The bizarre side of this dark world was slowly unveiled in his investigation. The film won the Best Science Fiction Film Award of the American Academy of Science Fiction Horror Film Academy in 1998, the Silver screen Award of the 1998 Amsterdam Fantasy Film Festival, the Pegsass audience Award of the 1999 Brussels International Fantasy Film Festival, and the 1999 Australian Film critics Association Award for Best original Screenplay.
