Diana (Julie Christie Julie Christie) is a lively, cheerful and charming woman. By chance, she meets the TV reporter Robert (Dirk Bogarde Dirk Bogarde). Robert's intelligence and alertness deeply attract Diana and make her fall in love. Although both Diana and Robert had their families, they decided to buy an apartment outside and began a brief cohabitation. In the end, both of them divorced and became husband and wife. Diana, who wants to be a movie star, gets to know the director Miles (Lawrence Harvey Laurence Harvey) and decides to use him. Under Diana's seduction and temptation, Miles fell, Diana got the leading lady's seat, and everything she did was known by Robert, who left her disappointed.
