In a quiet suburban community, the little-known painter David Andernach (Mads Mickelson Mads Mikkelsen) has an affair with a female neighbor next door. One day while he was fooling around, his daughter Leoni (Valeria Eisenbart) drowned in his swimming pool. The incident directly led to the collapse of his marriage to his wife Maya (Jessica Schwartz Jessica Schwarz). The grieving David gave up and tried to kill himself at one point. The night after being pulled back from the brink of death by his friend Marx (Tim Seyfi), David follows a mysterious and beautiful butterfly through a passage and unexpectedly returns to the moment of the accident five years ago, successfully saving his daughter's life. Tragic life seems to take a turn for the better, but then a series of chain events made him fall into a whirlpool of fate and it was difficult for him to get out. This film won the best picture award of the German Film critics Association in 2010.
