Adapted from a famous scandal in American baseball history, it was written and directed by John Seles and guest starred as sports journalist Lin Ladner. The plot depicts eight players of the Chicago White Sox who release water in the 1919 World Cup baseball game for financial gain, while a group of gamblers manipulate the whole event behind the scenes. The whole film traces the whole story of the scandal in a very meticulous way, telling the dark scenes of the American basketball world, coupled with some wonderful baseball games, which is quite attractive to the audience who likes baseball. However, as a feature film, this film lacks emotion and drama power, so it fails to give play to the shock force that this event should have. However, the performances of several protagonists, such as John Cusack, Michael Loker, Charlie Sheehan and David Straitzer, were quite wonderful.
