Viktor is dying. Frankenstein (Kenneth Branagh), who is rescued by an Arctic expedition ship, tells captain Walton (Aidan Quinn) an incredible story. Young Victor lives with his parents 'adopted sister, Elizabeth (Helena Bonham Carter), who once steals a medical note on an experiment to resurrect a dead person and uses the stolen body to create a new "creation" of life (Robert De Niro).
