From Up on Poppy Hill

From Up on Poppy Hill 7.5

In the early 1960s, Japan, which recovered from the heavy blow of World War II, was rapidly re-establishing its position under the eyes of the world. Located in a seaport town in Yokohama, the Matsuzaki siblings and residents lead an ordinary life. The 16-year-old sister Hai (voiced by Yami Nagazawa) takes care of everyone's daily life, and routinely raises the signal flag to pray for safe navigation in the early morning. By chance, Hai became acquainted with Feng Jun (voice of Okada Junichi), a boy from the Department of Public Information of the same school, and added a beautiful color to campus life. At the same time, with the Tokyo Olympic Games approaching, the old building "Latin District", which is inhabited by Jun Nei and a group of friends, is facing the fate of demolition. In order to protect the holy land in their hearts, Jun, Hai and their friends unite. In the process, some secret feelings in their hearts grew quietly, but the unexpected fate stood in front of each other.... This film is based on the cartoon of the same name published by Takahashi and Tetsuro Sayama in the girl magazine "good Friends" from January to August 1980.
