The film is based on the true story of Texas fire hero Paul Neil Eide. John Wayne plays the hero Chase Bookman, who insinuates the heroic legend. Bookman leads a team of firemen. Take the company's private jet to fight oil field fires around the world. When Bookman was injured in an operation, a friend found his long-lost daughter Tish (Katherine Ross). Shortly after arriving at the hospital, Tish was inspired by her father's work and decided to join the brave fire-fighting heroes.
