Troy (Zac Efron) and Gabriela (Vanessa Hudgens) are young people from two different worlds. Troy was cultivated as a basketball seed since he was a child, while Gabriela was an outstanding student with high IQ. The two were pushed onto the stage at the New Year's Eve party and sang a wonderful song together, igniting sparks in each other's hearts. Coincidentally, the two actually became classmates in high school. The art teacher planned to select suitable candidates to participate in a musical, and Troy and Gabriela moved the teacher with their beautiful and tacit singing. To qualify for the final performance, they had to beat their opponents in the second round of interviews, but things got bumpy. The basketball team here is training intensively for an important game, and the players have asked Troy to concentrate on practicing; the academic competition is about to begin, and everyone opposes team member Gabriela being distracted by the musical. To make matters worse, their competitors interfered by scheduling basketball games, academic games and musical theater interviews on the same day. The two young men made a decisive decision on how to choose between fish and bear's paw, and they had great plans.
