The film revolves around the story of Maurizio Gucci, the third-generation successor to the fashion brand Gucci. Maurizio is the grandson of Gucci's founder Gucci. In 1995, he was shot dead on the stairs of his Milan office. His wife Patrizia Gucci was sentenced to 29 years in prison for planning the murder of her husband.
