Moonlight director Barry Jenkins has finalised a new film that will feature well-known writer James Baldwin's novel "if Bill Street can talk" (If Beale Street Could Talk), set in Harlem in the 1970s, featuring newly engaged young couples Fonny and Tish. Finney was falsely accused of rape, while Tish, pregnant, will run around looking for evidence to prove her husband's innocence. Annapurna, founded by Megan Ellison, will invest in the film and will work with Moonlight production company Plan B and Jenkins' own Pastel studio, which will begin filming in October.
