The film "the waves of Fire" is carried out by Captain Rockwell Tory (John Wayne) and commander Paul Eddington (Kirk Douglas), who are survivors of the Pearl Harbor Navy after the Japanese attack, trying to repair the warship and prepare for revenge. Meanwhile, Tory and nurse Maggie Haines (Patricia Nell) are madly in love. And hopes to restore his relationship with his estranged son Jeremiah (Brandon De Wilde), a young naval officer. The film presents a wonderful and true picture of the war and won the 38th Academy Awards: best Photography in Black and White Film.
