In Poland during the German occupation in 1943, Jews were restricted to live in an independent zone of separation. A middle-aged Jew named Jacopo spread the news of allied advance and German defeat to those around him every day. Everyone thought that he had heard these good news from his own private radio broadcasts, but in fact Jacopo made up big lies to encourage his countrymen to keep going.
