Lassie Come Home

Lassie Come Home 7.2

Yorkshire, England, during the Great Depression. Sam Gekrow (Donald Crisp Donald Crisp) has a poor family, and the only valuable thing is Lacey, a clever shepherd dog. Lacey is a good companion of his youngest son Joe (Roddy McDowell Roddy McDowall), but Sam sells Lacey to a wealthy duke (Nigel Bruce Nigel Bruce) because of his livelihood. Lacey, who misses her master deeply, fled several times. Finally, in faraway Scotland, Lacey began her journey back to the home of her true master. The color film Lacey, which was released in 1943, is based on a work of the same name by the British writer Eric Mobrinett. This children's book, which is well-known all over the world, tells the story of the legendary journey home of Lacey, a shepherd dog who is as smart as a man. Lacey's adventures have become one of the most enduring stories to be filmed in the future, successively into a number of movies, TV dramas and radio dramas. This film was nominated for Best Photography (Color) at the 16th Academy Awards in 1944.
