Munich youth Franz (Reina Werner Fassbender Rainer Werner Fassbinder) gets out of prison and decides to quit. But in the twinkling of an eye, he was targeted by the underworld, trying to induce him to commit a crime again, but Franz was determined and refused to give in. He returns to Munich to find his girlfriend Joana (Hannah Xugula Hanna Schygulla), and the two live together. Franz had nothing to do all day, living on Joana's pick-up money, but Joana had always longed to marry him and live a peaceful life. Soon after, Bruno (Yuri Rommel Ulli Lommel), Franz's cellmate, comes to Munich to find Franz and live with them. Bruno, who is actually a member of the underworld, designed several traps to try to get Franz back to crime, but Franz didn't know it and even asked his girlfriend to accompany Bruno. Although Franz paid no attention to Joana, Joana, who loved Franz with all his heart, called the police when Bruno set him up again. Bruno was killed in a random gun, and Franz and Joana tried to escape. But the road to death in front of them seemed insurmountable.
