Ethan (Tom Cruise) was a secret agent working in a special department. Since a beautiful woman named Julia (Michelle Monaghan) appeared in his life, Ethan decided to wash his hands and remove her armor and return to the fields. Unfortunately, the good times did not last long and not long after his happy life, Ethan received news that his apprentice Lindsay (Keri Russell) was kidnapped by his arch-rival Davian (Philip Seymour Hoffman). Davian was cold and ferocious, and Lindsay would be doomed to fall into his hands. In order to save Lindsay, Ethan resumed his old business.
