In 1978, Liu Muxing, who felt that he had committed murder in the Vietnam War, returned to South Korea to believe in God. in order to wash away his sins, Liu devoted himself to spiritual practice and organized villagers to raise money to buy land for preaching. Criminal policeman Qian Yongde (Zheng Zaiyong) suspected that Liu Muxing was a liar and persecuted the latter, but he was soon moved by Liu, and the two took several criminals together and went to remote places for redemption. Twenty-five years later, the settlement of Qian, Liu and others has developed into a well-organized village. Liu Mu died, Liu's son Liu Haiguo (Park Hairi) ran to the funeral from Seoul, but the people in the village did not seem to welcome Liu Haiguo and always expected him to leave. Liu Haiguo was suspicious and advocated an autopsy on his father, while he found that the land and money that originally belonged to his father had been transferred to Qian Yongde. Liu Haiguo turned to prosecutor Park Minxu to assist in the investigation, while Ying Zhi, a woman in the village, was secretly observing Liu Haiguo, and some dark past events in the village gradually surfaced under Liu Haiguo's investigation.
