Just after World War II, Leah (Ingrid Bergman Ingrid Bergman) is chosen by the Federal Bureau of investigation as the daughter of a war criminal, using her guilt for her father's sins and her father's network of connections in the Nazi camp to investigate Nazi leader Chebas (Claude Raines Claude Rains) and obtain intelligence to convict her. Federal investigator Dior (Gary Grant Cary Grant) falls in love with this charming girl in the process of working with Leah. However, their relationship still had to obey the national interest, so he put aside his affair and let Leah become a woman around Chebas.
