Ethan (Joaquin Phoenix Joaquin Phoenix) and his wife Grace (Jennifer Connery Jennifer Connelly) never thought that their beloved son Joey (Sean Curley) would die one step ahead of them, but what happened was so real and unchangeable when the speeding car hit Joey. Before that, lawyer Dwight (Mark Ruffalo Mark Ruffalo) is enjoying a rare evening with his son Lucas (Eddie Alderson Eddie Alderson), and in a few hours, Dwight will send Lucas back to his ex-wife Ruth (Mira Sorvino Mira Sorvino). However, when Dwight drove his car, and when a strong sense of impact passed from the front to Dwight's body, he knew that his fate would change. At such a critical juncture, many thoughts rushed through Dwight's mind, but his body made the worst choice, which was to step on the gas and run away.
