Set in the 1990s, the film tells the story of three good friends, Waldmere, Andre and Misha. They came to Berlin from Moscow shortly after the Berlin Wall was torn down. Here, they dream of a better life. The film is adapted from the influential novel published by Russian writer Valdemir Camina in Germany and is described as a "contemporary fairy tale" about friendship, love, dreams and the pursuit of happiness. The film, starring Germany's popular youngster Matthias Schweichev, grossed nearly $5.9 million at the box office, making it one of the highest-grossing local films of the year in Germany.
