September Dawn

September Dawn 5.8

This film is about a love story between Romeo and Juliet in the 19th century. The story is based on the famous plateau tragedy that took place in American history on September 11, 1857. a group of horse-drawn convoys bound for California passed through southern Utah. Mormons discovered that they had participated in the execution of the "extermination order" in 1838 and forcibly expelled the Mormons from the Han's Mill tragedy in Missouri, and immediately made a decision of revenge. They secretly allied with Indian tribes, surrounded and raided the convoy, killed and executed 120 men and women in the name of God, and only 17 children under the age of 10 survived. Later, Mormon leader John D.Lee, who was involved in command and planning, was sentenced to death, and 20 years later, the adopted son of Mormon leader Brigham Young was sentenced to death. Because of the views reflected in the film, this incident has been controversial to this day. Two young people, one is a Mormon, the son of the local Mormon bishop, the other is the youngest daughter of a chariot priest, an immigrant from Arkansas to California, no matter how deep the hatred between the two families is, no matter how stubborn the secular views are, they still have beautiful and moving seedlings of love.
