On the streets of New York, four naughty teenagers planned a good show to play tricks on street vendors selling hot dogs to pass the boring afternoon. Unexpectedly, the joke was too big, and they accidentally hurt passers-by and were sentenced to prison in the boys' home for several months. In the boys' home, every midnight, they were called out by jailers, beaten and sodomized. When they regained their freedom, the four partners decided to bury the humiliation in their hearts forever. Years later, two of the partners, Michael (Brad Pitt Brad Pitt) become deputy prosecutors, and Lorenzo (Jason Patrick Jason Patric) becomes a journalist, while the other two John (Lon Adard Ron Eldard) and Tommy (Billy Crudup Billy Crudup) can't get out of the shadows and become gangsters. When John and Tommy meet Sean (Kevin Bacon Kevin Bacon), one of the jailers who sodomized them in the restaurant, they don't hesitate to shoot him. To help his partner, Michael came up with a comprehensive plan: they hired a famous muddle-headed lawyer to defend them, while Michael worked hard as the prosecution for Sean.
