Talk to Me

Talk to Me 7.4

Let's go back to the mid-to-late 1960s in Washington, D.C., where shocking soul music and explosive social consciousness are interacting and combining, bringing an extraordinary era of innovation to the African-American community-- for Petey Ralph Waldo Green, Jr., it's a good time for him to be "honest" as radio DJ. The full expression of their indignation has brought courage and encouragement to the black community that has been treated unfairly. With the support of his uncontrollable and hot-tempered girlfriend, Vernell Watson, conversations considered "negative material" poured into the radio show hosted by him-if Dewey Hughes, the brother of Milo, his roommate he met in prison, had not helped him behind his back, he would have been kicked out of the station because he was gossiping. Pitty initially hosted the first live talk show on the radio every morning. "Soul Song" is the central content of the program, while Dewey is the planner and director. Pitty soon won the audience with his sharp hosting style, mixed with unique voice and enthusiasm.
