There is a mountain in Xinnong, and people from nearby mountain villages have to enter it when they are 70 years old. 69-year-old A Ling (played by Tanaka Tanaka) still has two things to let go: one is that her 45-year-old son Chen Ping (Takahashi Takahashi) became a widower last year, and the other is that his eldest grandson Sasaji (Yuanzi Ishikawa) always laughs at his strong teeth in front of the villagers. On the annual sacrifice day, A Ling, who came to her new daughter-in-law A Yu (Wangyue Youzi), knocked out two front teeth on the stone mortar. During the rice harvest season, the saffron led the pregnant Asong (Keiko Ogasawara) into the house and urged his grandmother to go into the mountain early. Unlike the saffron robe, the kind Chen Ping is reluctant to give up his mother to enter the mountain. However, in the face of population growth and lack of food, Chen Ping had no choice but to follow his mother's wishes and carry her mother to the mountain before the New year.
