Mario (Alessio Boni Alessio Boni) and Nikolai (Luigilo Shoka Luigi Lo Cascio) are intimate brothers, but the poetry-loving Mario failed the exam because he disagreed with the professor. On the contrary, Nikolai won high marks from the medical professor for his favorite performance. Several of their friends meet for a graduation trip, but Mario brings another uninvited guest-he rescues the injured girl Zuozhen (Jessmintrica Jasmine Trinca) from a mental hospital. So the brothers decided to accompany her to find relatives. In the midst of the revolution, Mario abandoned his pen to join the army and chose to become a policeman, while Nikolai drifted away to become a psychiatrist.
