In the first year of Chunzu, Ding Ruoquan (Xue Jingqiu) was sent to the remote Heishan Island due to the influence of Xinyou persecution. After coming to the island, Ding Ruoquan became very interested in the marine life here and decided to write a book about marine life. He asked Changda (Bian Yaohan), a young fisherman who was born and raised here and is familiar with all kinds of marine life, for help, but at first Changda refused because Ding Ruoquan was guilty. Later, Ding Ruoquan realized that Changda often encountered difficulties in the process of self-learning literacy, so he proposed to teach each other what he was good at. Changda finally agreed that the two became mentors in the collision with each other.
