Eight years after the death of prosecutor Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart), Gotham City has effectively curbed criminal activity with the efforts of Sheriff Gordon (Gary Oldman). Batman Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) is wanted by the police for the murder of Dent and disappeared in Gotham City. However, this seemingly calm state is shattered by the appearance of the terrorist Bain (Tom Hardy), who uses Catwoman (Anne Hathaway) to steal Bruce's fingerprints, causing the Wayne Group to face a loss of money and Bruce is kicked out of the board of directors. In order to ensure that the energy projects invested by Wayne Group are not used by bad people to make nuclear bombs, Bruce helps Miranda (Marion Cotillard) become chairman of the board. Bain's next series of sophisticated design plans plunged Gotham City into isolation, and the day of destruction was just around the corner.
