The owner of the brewery, Wan Bingwei (Nakamura Yanjiro), whose wife passed away, had two daughters, Wenzi and Kiko (Siye). Qiuzi, his daughter-in-law (Yuanjiezi), was widowed for a long time, and his father-in-law's relatives were kind enough to pull strings for him, but Qiuzi didn't seem to pay attention to it. In contrast, Wan Bingwei's state of mind is quite active, frequently meeting his old lover Sasaki, and Yuriko, daughter of Wan Bingwei and Sasaki, who grew up, but this fashionable girl who dates her American boyfriend cares more about gifts than whether Wan Bingwei is her real father. Wenzi is quite dissatisfied with her father's behavior but can do nothing about it. The young people who had feelings for each other with Jizi went to work in Sapporo, and the two could only convey their thoughts by letter. There was no hope of progress in the marriage between the daughter-in-law and the daughter for a while, but Wan Bingwei fainted because of a myocardial infarction, and the brewery owner who soon woke up hurried to his lover's home again.
