Alain (Fernando Rey), a wealthy French tycoon who runs the world's largest heroin smuggling network, has been unable to arrest him after repeated investigations, and the undercover police officer was brutally killed. On the other side of New York City, detectives Doyle (Gene Hackman) and Russo (Roy Scheider) are still fighting with local drug traffickers in a bar, unaware that Alan is planning to smuggle a $32 million amount of heroin into the United States. However, not long after, during a tracking operation, Doyle and Russo quickly discovered the relationship between suspicious characters and drug trafficking networks, and a sinister and protracted battle against drug trafficking gangs began.
