Brenner (John Travorta John Travolta), a senior official of the Army's Crime investigation Department, and his assistant Senghill (Madeleine Stowe Madeleine Stowe) are ordered to investigate a mysterious murder within 36 hours. Elizabeth (Leslie Stephenson Leslie Stefanson), the daughter of Vice President's contender General Campbell (James Cromwell James Cromwell), is brutally killed in a military base. As the investigation deepened, Brenner found that Elizabeth, who had attended West Point, had an unknown incident in high school in addition to her excellent grades and good looks. She had a rotten private life and did not have a harmonious relationship with her father. General Campbell is not as upright as he portrayed. While uncovering the truth, Brenner also discovered many secrets in the army. In the end, the murderer was punished and the incident was calmed down.
