Jude Stevens (Roger Moore Roger Moore), who lives in Chicago, is an extremely dedicated and respected psychiatrist. Since the death of his wife, his mind has shifted to his work, and his daily life has been quiet. But the calm was suddenly broken by an accident, when one of Stevens's patients was killed in the street on a rainy day, followed by Detective McGreevy (Rod Steiger Rod Steiger) and Angeli (Iliad Gaud Elliott Gould). McGreevy's former partner was killed by a madman named Chevron. Stevens made a successful psychiatric evaluation of the suspect, making him hold a grudge against him and thinking that Stevens was the one who killed the patient in the street. After that, the mysterious man killed Stevens one after another, and he, who has always been kind to others, unwittingly fell into the black whirlpool of crisis. This film is based on the original book of the same name by Sidney Shelton (Sidney Sheldon).
