In the near future in the United States, the national unemployment rate will be only 1%, the crime rate will hit a record low, and violence will almost disappear. The United States of America seemed to have entered a beautiful golden age like heaven, and what contributed to this perfect appearance was an unprecedented sweep plan. In order to effectively release the depression and dissatisfaction in the hearts of citizens, the state specially stipulates that a 12-hour nationwide sweep will be held one day after 7 p.m. every year. In this deformed era, security system salesman James Sandin (voiced by Ethan Hawke) makes a fortune and lives a happy life with his wife and children. It was another year of sweeping up the night.
