The story takes place in the southern United States in the middle of the last century, when Lizzie, a dancer from out of town, was inadvertently involved in a white murder of a black man. With the appearance of judges, congressmen and various characters, there was a buying scene and a series of ugly dramas of intimidation and inducement. When the upright and kind-hearted Lizzie refuses to join the deal to persecute blacks, who in this racist society will listen to her, and who will support this humble dancer and innocent blacks?
