In his seaside villa, Paul Decker (Peter Van Eyck Peter van Eyck) kills his wife with gas and disguises the room as a suicide scene, while he puts on a scuba and hides under the floor to create an alibi. Everyone, including the police, believes that Mrs. Decker committed suicide, but the deceased's daughter Candy (Mandy Miller) insists that Paul is the real killer. It turned out that Paul was not Candy's daughter. She went on a trip with her father and Paul when she was 8 years old, but witnessed her father being killed by each other, after which Paul became Candy's stepfather. Candy was suspicious, but Paul was so thoughtful and cunning that he hardly showed anything. In order to seize the family property completely, and to get rid of the hidden danger as soon as possible, he began to plan to impose a venomous hand on Candy.
