New Zealand female director Nikki Carroll adapted her third work after the Whale Knight and the Northern Wind and Cloud from the Elizabeth Knox novel of the same name. The story takes place in 19th-century France, where Jeremy Renai plays a peasant ambition to make the best wine in the world, but gets caught up in a love-hate relationship with his wife Keisha Custer-Huyce and the beautiful countess Vera Farmiga. I also met an angel played by Gaspard Uriel.
