The film is adapted from the Samurai Sakata mystery novel of the same name, with the theme of the biggest unsolved incident during the Showa years. It tells the story between the journalist Ajiujin Yoshi (Komori) and Zeng Genjun (Hoshino), a man associated with the incident as a teenager.
