Nicknamed "sledgehammer", Randy Robinson (Mickey Rourke Mickey Locke) is a dazzling star in the American independent wrestling circle in the 1980s. He has left behind numerous classic competitions, and his trick "sledgehammer crushing" has captured many enthusiastic wrestling enthusiasts. However, with the rapid development of the industry and the decline of physical health, the era of "sledgehammer" is long gone. Out of his love of wrestling, Randy never left the circle. He endured hardship and pain in order to enjoy every show with his wrestling fans who had been with him for many years. He stubbornly chased the last glimmer of glory, but his private life went from bad to worse. Years of running so far as to alienate his daughter Stephanie (Evan Rachel Wood Evan Rachel Wood), violent crashes and constant intake of prescription drugs have brought his heart close to the brink of collapse. Lonely, he can only get some short-term comfort from stripper Cassidy (Marisa Tomei Marissa Tomei) after every tough game. For physical reasons, Randy decided to quit the wrestling circle and make a steady job.
