More than 50 years ago, a spacecraft from Cybertron crashed to the moon, triggering a space race between the United States and the Soviet Union. Humans are competing to land on the moon just to discover the secrets of the spacecraft's wreckage. Back in the early 21st century, after several battles, the Autobots finally defeated the invasion of the Decepticons and then cooperated with humans to jointly defend the beautiful earth. However, the events at Chernobyl put the long-forgotten lunar program back on the table. In order to prevent the Decepticons from finding the energy pillar and committing evil things, Optimus Prime and his comrades flew to the moon, and rescued the early leader of the Autobots, Sentinel, from the spacecraft of that year. Sentinel is the inventor of the energy column. By gathering hundreds of energy columns together, a space bridge can be created and the instantaneous transmission of matter can be realized. Sam (Shia LaBeouf), who is busy looking for a job and running a love affair with his girlfriend Carly (Rosie Huntington-Whiteley), is inevitably involved. He gradually discovers the Decepticons 'conspiracy to manipulate everything, but does not know that a greater conspiracy and crisis is hidden behind the moon shadow...
