Trial on the Road

Trial on the Road 7.9

Winter of 1942. In Russia in a northern-western region, Lazarev, a Russian who voluntarily surrendered his arms to the Germans, asked to join the guerrillas to contribute to his countrymen in order to relieve himself of the humiliation of having surrendered to the enemy. There was still little trust in him, but guerrilla leader Lokotkov insisted that he be left behind for the test. In the days that followed, Lazarev did meritorious service for the guerrillas, but everyone still had a prejudice against him, and it was Lokotkov who interceded for him every time. In a battle of German military materials robbed by guerrillas, Lazarev did not retreat alone in order to cover his comrades-in-arms and the safe evacuation of the captured military materials train, but fought with the Germans alone and finally died heroically, proving his worth with his life.
