Yumiko (Siye) is looking forward to a bright future, when she is pregnant, and then will be transferred to the American Embassy with her husband Eda Hong (Toya Jiannan), who works in the Ministry of Trade and Industry. But a sudden disaster destroyed all this. Eda died accidentally in a car accident, and the court ruled that the accident was caused by force majeure and was exempted from accountability. Yumiko particularly hated the perpetrator Shiro Mishima (Kozo Kayama). She refused Mishima's visit and compensation request, took the child painfully, and returned to her hometown Aomori to work in her sister's hotel to make a living. Mishima was transferred from the Tokyo headquarters because of a car accident, and his girlfriend who had been in love for many years also abandoned him. With a sense of guilt, he regularly sent pensions to Miko. Soon the two met in Aomori, one unwilling to look back, the other hoping to ask the other for forgiveness. Two traumatized people slowly come together. This film is the posthumous work of director Narase Shigeo.
