Young Professor X Charles (James McAvoy) and Magneto Eric (Michael Fassbender) are a pair of like-minded friends. They were the first to discover their powers and worked at the CIA with several other mutants. Shaw (Kevin Bacon), the Nazi warmonger who triggered Eric's superpower, has been trying to provoke a nuclear war and is trying every means to provoke conflicts between the United States and the Soviet Union. Eric and Charles have been fighting Shaw's mutants, trying to stop Shaw's plot. Shaw encouraged the Soviet Union to trigger the Cuban Missile Crisis. After Charles and Eric learned the news, they started a showdown with Shaw's mutants in the Gulf. In the end, Shaw was eliminated by the joint efforts of Charles and Eric. However, in the process, Eric was gradually influenced by Shaw's political views and had a rift with Charles. Through this battle in the Gulf, Eric and Charles finally broke. One side became Professor X, who supported the peaceful coexistence of humans and mutants; the other side insisted on the view that the rise of mutants would be achieved through the elimination of humans, calling itself Magneto...
