A Lonely Hero's Journey (Season 1)

Gu Yizhong (played by Zeng Shunxi), a son of the Gu family in Suzhou, returned home from the Department of Architecture at the University of Pennsylvania. After the outbreak of the War of Resistance, after a rescue operation to assist his girlfriend of the underground party failed, all contact points of the Suzhou underground organization were exposed. Gu Yizhong was mistakenly regarded as a traitor within the party because the Japanese puppet army deliberately planted and framed him. Unable to prove his innocence, he took the initiative to sneak into the Japanese puppet army and finally became a lurking officer of our party's secret service station in Suzhou. Under tremendous pressure, Gu Yizhong battled wisdom and courage with Zhou Zhifei (Zhang Songwen), director of the Suzhou Secret Service Station, and Keno Kondo, an adviser to the Japanese army, and took the opportunity to find out the real traitor in the party,"Black Eight", and eliminate him. Gu Yizhong continued to secretly collect intelligence for our party, saved comrades within the party from danger many times, and provided great support and assistance to the Anti-Japanese and National Salvation Movement organized underground by our party in Suzhou. He moved forward courageously with unwavering belief and continued to grow in the struggle.
